Brennan, Manna & Diamond’s leadership wrapped up 2016 by promoting three associates and announcing managing partners for the firm’s two newest offices.

David M. Scott was named managing partner of the Columbus office and Jeffrey C. Miller took the helm in Cleveland.

Miller joined Brennan, Manna & Diamond in May after leaving Kegler Brown Hill + Ritter.

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School, Miller focuses on labor and employment, wage and hour, business law and commercial litigation.

Co-managing partner Matthew Heinle said Miller had done “a number of deals with Brennan, Manna & Diamond while at his other firm and he reached out to us. He was the right fit and a perfect catalyst for our new office.”

The Cleveland office opened last year, but does not yet have a permanent home. However that will change this summer when attorneys move to 200 Public Sq. in downtown Cleveland.

In an earlier interview with the Akron Legal News, Miller said he plans to grow the office to around 10 lawyers in the first year or two.

Scott joined Brennan, Manna & Diamond in 2016. He previously served as a partner in the Columbus office of Kohrman Jackson & Krantz.

He received his bachelor’s degree and juris doctor from The Ohio State University and focuses on a wide range of BMD matters, including business/construction litigation along with employment and labor law, finance, real estate, tax, estate planning and asset protection and intellectual property and tech.

Located at 250 Civic Center Dr., the Columbus office started in May 2015 and has three attorneys.

“David has been with us since April and we saw his leadership skills and how much clients enjoyed his work so we felt he was the right person to lead the Columbus office,” said Heinle.

“Our business model in both Columbus and Cleveland is to hire local attorneys working in the markets who are viewed as high quality professionals,” he said. “This allows us to expand the firm’s reach and increase the overall number of attorneys.

“Our client base had been growing in both cities and we wanted to grow with our clients.”

In a press release Anthony Manna, chairman and founding member of Brennan, Manna & Diamond stated “Jeff and David not only enhance the services we offer to our clients, but also bring extensive legal experience to growing our firm.

“Their experience and proven ability to deliver great results will augment our strong management team. Both have established practices that, coupled with their excellent track records and leadership skills, position them and the firm to enhance our ability to meet the needs of clients and grow the firm in both markets.”

In addition, Akron associate Adrian Ribovich and Jacksonville associates K. Mac Bracewell and Christopher Walker became partners.

Manna said each one “demonstrated their dedication and commitment to our clients and to our firm.”

Ribovich received his juris doctor from The University of Toledo College of Law. He also earned a master’s of business administration from The University of Toledo College of Business and Innovation and a Master of Law (LL.M.) in Taxation from Wayne State University.

His practice focuses on business and corporate law and tax, estate and asset protection.

Heinle said Ribovich showed “a high level of professionalism and competence. He has acquired excellent client development skills, making him a natural fit to be partner.”

Bracewell obtained his juris doctor from Samford University Cumberland School of Law in Alabama. He belongs to both the business and corporate law and the tax, estate and asset protection practice groups.

Walker handles matters ranging from business and corporate law to mergers and acquisitions and real estate. He graduated from The Dickinson School of Law at The Pennsylvania State University.

“Our focus is to promote attorneys who are hardworking and community minded,” said Heinle. “By promoting from within, we set an example for new attorneys who are able to see the path to advancement within the firm.”

In addition, Akron attorneys Jason A. Butterworth, Victoria L. Ferrise, Priscilla A. Grant and Eleanor J. Tschugunov were named equity partners.

“Each has distinguished themselves in their respective practice areas providing our clients with legal excellence,” said Heinle. “The firm prides itself on our unique approach to partnering with our clients by understanding our clients’ goals.

“Our newest equity partners have significant experience and offer our clients first-class legal service,” said Heinle. “Each new member believes in what we do at BMD and are their clients’ ‘go-to’ person.”
